June 27th, 2019 --- The largely anticipated 45th annual La Grange Craft Fair will expand to a three-day weekend of arts and crafts due to high demand on Friday, July 12th through Sunday, July 14th, 2019.

The growing popularity of the annual La Grange Craft Fair has prompted its expansion with nearly 200 artisans from throughout the Midwest selling a wide assortment of one-of-a-kind items, according to the La Grange Business Association.

Recently named one of the top 200 craft shows in the country, the La Grange Craft Fair will offer a broad range of hand-made wares, from original paintings and yard art to handmade clothing, jewelry, soaps and accessories sold along La Grange Road from Burlington Ave. to Cossitt Ave. and West on Harris Street from La Grange Road to Ashland Ave.

Hours are 10AM - 5PM each day of the Craft and Fair (Friday-Sunday). Expanded free parking is available at Lyons Township High School, North Campus (100 S Brainard Ave.). Shuttle transportation from North Campus to the beginning of the craft show (corner of Harris and Ashland) will be provided on Saturday and Sunday. Shuttles will leave the North Campus lot every half hour starting at 10am. Shuttles will leave the craft show starting at 10:15am and every half hour thereafter until 4:45pm.

The La Grange Craft Fair has continued to grow along with an increased demand from millennials for hand-crafted items that has now sparked the expansion of the authentic fair. Interest in crafting, now a $44 billion industry, has increased by 45% since 2011, according to the Association for Creative Industries.

Karen Yackley of Craft Productions Inc., the show's promoter, says millennials are looking for artisan items that are recycled, repurposed, vintage, sustainable and customized. Some of the top national crafting hot items that visitors will see at the La Grange show include authentic home decor made from reclaimed materials, cut books, and upcycled items.

Many local businesses will feature special offers and creative activities throughout the weekend. Details will be available at LagrangeEvents.com.

The craft fair is held with the support of the Village of La Grange and sponsored by Chiro One Wellness Centers.

"La Grange Craft Fair continues to be an impressive weekend attraction for families near and far with its wide assortment of arts and crafts along with La Grange's vibrant restaurants and shops," according to Joseph Kroc, board president of the La Grange Business Association.
