For nearly 50 years, CAAEL, a 501c3 nonprofit, has been a champion for students who often miss out on traditional school activities. Through athletic, academic, and art programs, CAAEL empowers students facing challenges such as emotional or learning disabilities, behavioral struggles, social isolation, autism, anxiety, depression, truancy, drug dependency, gang involvement and more....... ?? CAAEL at a Glance: ?? students from 30+ Illinois counties ?? 5,000 students served annually ?? 1,100+ events each year promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and responsibility ?? All activities happen during school hours, requiring students to meet academic, attendance, and behavior standards each week While many Illinois students have access to IHSA-sanctioned sports and clubs, thousands of at-risk students are left out because they're staffed out of their home schools and sent to alternative schools—but CAAEL ensures they get the same opportunities to learn, grow, and succeed.
