Make no bones about it. La Grange businesses are serious about celebrating Halloween as they pose light-hearted skeletons in front of their shops, offices and restaurants as part of a spirited celebration called "Skeletober."
This is the seventh year that the La Grange Business Association is organizing the display of boney visitors as a way to entice foot traffic to the business district. Over 30 skeletons designed to tickle your funny bone are going up for display along the sidewalks. The skeletons, seeming to be living their best afterlife, are posed as themed characters such as waiters, dancers, princesses and more.
People are encouraged to take pictures with the engaging skeletons and post on Facebook or Instagram by tagging the La Grange Business Association and using the hashtag #skeletober to be entered in random prize drawings throughout the month.

Skeleton Scavenger Hunt, beginning on Saturday, October 8 through October 31. Visitors can team up with family and friends for a scavenger hunt throughout downtown La Grange. Follow the clues to 10 locations to be entered in a random drawing. Start your scavenger hunt here!
Photo Ops & Fall Family Fun - Saturday, Oct. 8 at the La Grange Area Historical Society partnered with Whisper Me Home. Mini photo sessions on the lawn plus face painting, cider and snacks. www.lagrangehistory.org
Trunk or Treat, Saturday, Oct 15, 10:30am - 12pm. Organized by the Park District of La Grange. Come “trick or treat” from decorated trunks in the Sedgwick Park parking lot (E 48th St and S 10th Ave) and then stay for more Halloween fun with games, prizes and more! Cost is FREE!
Spooky Spirits, from October 15-31. Enjoy devilishly delicious cocktails at participating restaurants in this spirited tour of La Grange. Visitors can try Halloween-themed concoctions, like "Demons on Fire," the "Passionate Spider" or the "Evil Queen" plus more beginning October 15. Find out more.
Thriller Dance Demo, Saturday, October 15 at 1pm. Come watch the famous dance performed by students of The Dance Center of La Grange. Located near La Grange Village Hall. Our Skeletober musicians, Nate & Alex, kick off the fun at noon!
