Our market is more than a place to buy food. It's a community event and a festive spot to socialize, an experience that allows you to build a friendly relationship with the growers and artisans who make your food.
Our produce is picked the day before you buy it, when it's ripe and ready to eat. These family farmers, from Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana and Illinois, work hard to provide you with fresh food that ripens in the soil instead of on the supermarket shelf. You might find yourself shopping alongside the chef from a local restaurant selecting the perfect seasonal tomato or just-ripened peach for tonight's dinner menu.
A lively Activity Tent features interesting local businesses that are eager to engage you with crafts for your kids, sustainability education, gardening ideas, cooking tips and more. You might hear the lyrical sounds from an acoustic guitar, the playful laughter of children at story time or the encouraging banter from a wellness expert leading a class. Along with the sweet smell from freshly-picked flower bouquets, the aromas from a delicious culinary demonstration fill the air. Would you like to try a sample?
The Farmers Market is brought to you by the members of the La Grange Business Association: the local and family-owned businesses that make La Grange a special place. It is sponsored by our very good neighbor, Kathy Dierkes State Farm Insurance, as well as prasino, serving creative farm-to-table fare in a space with recycled & reclaimed materials. The La Grange Farmers Market has just been named one of the favorites in the area by West Suburban Living magazine.
The outdoor market will run Thursdays from 7am – 1pm through October and will feature 25 local and regional small batch vendors. The Farmers Market will not be held on the Fourth of July.
