A friendly skeleton named Bob Ross relaxes with his painter's palette in front of the La Grange Art League.
Event Description:
Make no bones about it. La Grange businesses are serious about celebrating Halloween as they pose light-hearted skeletons in front of their shops, offices and restaurants as part of a spirited celebration called "Skeletober."

This is the sixth year that the La Grange Business Association is organizing the display of bony visitors as a way to entice foot traffic to the business district. Over 40 skeletons designed to tickle your funny bone are going up for display along the sidewalks. The skeletons, seeming to be living their best afterlife, are posed as themed characters such as painter Bob Ross, Princess Diana, Fred Astaire and more.

Residents can check out each unique skeleton by following a walking map available at local businesses or online which indicates where each skeleton is located. The month-long promotion is sponsored by Boyce Chiropractic and is held with support from the Village of La Grange.

People are encouraged to take pictures with the engaging skeletons and post on Facebook or Instagram by tagging the La Grange Business Association and using the hashtag #skeletober to be entered in random prize drawings throughout the month.

Other spooktacular events organized by the LGBA include:

Skeleton Scavenger Hunt, beginning on Saturday, October 10 through October 31. Visitors can team up with family and friends for a scavenger hunt throughout downtown La Grange and the West End. Follow all the clues to 10 locations to be entered in a random prize drawing. Clues will be available at www.skeletober.com beginning Oct. 10.
