Name: 101 Workshop: 101 - Stop the Pain | Neuromuscular Activation
Date: October 16, 2019
Time: 6:00 PM - 6:45 PM CDT
Event Description:
Maura Gates MS, ATC hosts this workshop on Neuromuscular Activation (Be-Activated)

An Activated body will quickly change from a state of tension and pain, to a strong relaxed state of improved performance.

Why does our body revert to compensations?
Our bodies have 2 priorities for survival: to breathe and to move. Our bodies will find ways to accomplish this by utilizing muscles down/up the kinetic chain to achieve this. This compensation derives from the Central Nervous System in order to protect the body from trauma (emotional), injury and pressures. This equates to reduced strength, movement, endurance, and leaving our bodies less resilient.

How does Neuromuscular or Be-Activated change the compensations?
We test the body in what it is doing now, so that changes can be measured. Simply by testing in muscle flexibility, strength, and resistance. Once we determine the body’s sequence or patterns, we begin activating in order for them to return to a natural state of firing pattern. This is done manually and then the client is taught how to self-activate, empowering the client control over their health!
